Position: Finance Clerk

Responsibilities: Job Vacancies at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts

  • Maintain alphabetical files by vendor containing complete invoices and backup attached to the bank transfer form for efficient access after payment.  All filing is to be kept current. 
  • Ensure all payments are made correctly and with the correct authorization (approved PO), evidence of receipt, invoice or delivery slip and Accounts Payable stamp. 
  • Process all Accounts Payable invoices and bank transfer through the computer system. 
  • Complete wire authorization forms for wire transfer and ensure it is signed by two authorized signatories (from Groups A & B) and ensure all applicable backup supports the transfer. 
  • Ensure all standing orders for electronic disbursements are approved in accordance with the normal payment procedures and signed by the cheque signatories. 
  • Verify and process Expense Reports and Petty Cash reimbursements ensuring compliance with key controls. 
  • Forward all stop payment and void cheques to the Staff Accountant / Assistant Director of Finance for journalizing.  Reconcile vendor statements as they are received, with reconciling items, including any correspondence from the vendor clearly indicated and resolve all discrepancies directly with the vendor. 
  • Prepare manual cheques and online payment as they are required if directed by Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance. 
  • Run the required reports at month end to close the Accounts Payable cycle. 
  • Ensure all goods received and services provided, but not yet invoiced, are properly accrued and expensed and that the outstanding liabilities for other accruals are accurate and agree to all supporting documentation. 
  • Verify that all invoices are supported by duly approved purchase orders when required, signed receiving documentation and/or the approval of authorized management personnel.

Position: Discovery Center and Kijana Klub Attendant

Essential Function : four seasons careers

  • Organize, monitor, book and participate in daily Discovery Centre activities, including outdoor activities and Kijana Klub activities, as well as walking and other safaris, while ensuring their safety.
  • Answer questions about the Discovery Centre, Kijana Klub, Tanzania and Serengeti.
  • Retain accurate records: children in attendance, safety waivers, children’s birthdays etc
  • Assist with setup, breakdown and cleaning of the Discovery Centre and Kijana Klub.
  • Arrange for food for Kid’s Club dining from In-Room-Dining, as required by guests; assist with the service.
  • Work closely with supervisor to ensure proper standards of hygiene and functioning of equipment.
  • Report to work on time, aware of schedule at all times and if unable to attend work, notifies the supervisor in adequate time as stated in Employee Handbook.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
  • Dress in issued uniform and ensure a neat, clean and tidy appearance at all times.
  • Adhere to the established standard of conduct and house rules, fire regulations and department procedures and policies.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum high school education, College education qualification in childcare and/or qualification in wildlife/cultural tourism, or equivalent experience.
  • CPR and First Aid certificate (current), good level of spoken and writer English, computer skills (especially Excel).
  • Experience in related field; wildlife-oriented position a plus. Hospitality or service-related experience preferred.
  • Six months work with children in this age group.
  • Good with children and enjoy working with them.
  • Extensive cultural and wildlife knowledge.
  • Excellent English language; oral, listening and writing skills. Fluent Kiswahili.
  • Clear and well-spoken with a presentable (friendly and smiling) image, with exceptional person hygiene. Ability to swim (a bonus).

Position: Discovery Centre & Kijana Klub Supervisor

BASIC PURPOSE

Responsible for assisting in managing, overseeing, planning, organising, leading and monitoring all activities related to the Discovery Centre and Kijana Klub. Will assist in managing shifts at the Discovery Centre & Kijana Klub and oversee the overall wildlife and cultural guest experiences at the Lodge.

Responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing guest needs/requests and provide additional personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum guest satisfaction while complying with all policies and procedures of the Lodge.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Discovery Centre and Kijana Klub.
  • Assist the Discovery Centre manager design programs for the Lodge that will enhance the overall guest experience and educate guests, as well as employees, on the significance of wildlife conservation, history and people of the Serengeti region.
  • Oversee the wildlife and cultural guest experience at the Lodge; develop and provide specific educational programs about the Maasai and the local flora & fauna to the guests.
  • Assist in arranging and overseeing talks, documentary and movie screenings, special events, group programs etc at the Discovery Centre and Kijana Klub.
  • Identify conservation and community-based projects in the surrounding area that Four Seasons can viably support.
  • Set up, control and manage the Walking Safari Program for guests at the Lodge together with all required amenities and coordinate for sundowner experience.
  • Identify and assist to plan local game drive routes within and around the Lodge as deemed necessary with developing guest demand and reviewed on annual basis.
  • Play a leading role in the Lodge’s Green Committee; oversee the Lodge Environmental Program, Conservation and other Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and awareness programs. Work with other departments to co-ordinate their involvement and the success of the Lodge initiatives.
  • Where appropriate provide specific educational topics on green initiatives about the environment, community and conservation projects, flora and fauna as part of people development plan across other departments.
  • Leading guests on Discovery Centre related activities, as well as assisting other departments when needed.

Knowledge and Skills : workday four seasons jobs

Education: Minimum B.Sc. directly related to Wildlife Conservation or Ecology, Tourism or Cultural Heritage.

Experience: Minimum three years in Hospitality or service-related preferred. Tourism and Hospitality background a plus. Clear track record with relevant references.
