Duties and Responsibilities – Tanzania Automotive Technology Centre Jobs

Electrical -1 Post

Conduct maintenance and repair of electrical equipments.
To instruct lower grade electrical artisans.
Conduct maintenance and repair of electrical installations such as lighting systems and socket outlets.
Maintain and service domestic electrics, installations such as circuit breakers, wiring switches, and switching devices.

Qualifications

Holder of form IV Certificate (CSEE) and NVTA1/ CBET II or Trade Test Grade II in one of the following field: Foundry, Electrical Installation, Motor Vehicle, Fitter Mechanics, Welding, Spray Painting and Panel Beating and Masonry equivalent qualifications from recognized institution. RESEARCH ASSISTANT – 6 POSTS

Report to: Head of Research and Technology Development

Duties and Responsibilities

Engineer products and system failure investigation.
Determine appropriate materials for automotive engineering application
Conduct consultancy works related to engineering research.
Rehabilitate engineering systems and processes for improved productivity.
Conduct analysis on disposition of sub-standard materials such as downgrading, reprocessing or scraping.
Use Computer Aided Engineering in project development and promotion; and
Prepare artistic impressions of new concepts and products.

Qualifications

Holder of Bachelor Degree with a minimum of upper second class in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from any recognized higher learning institution.

ENGINEER II (ELECTRICAL) – 1 POST

Reports to: Chief Technical Service (Maintenance) Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct design of engineering system components and maintenance tools.
Undertake preventive and breakdown maintenance of machine tools, material handling equipments, motor vehicles and other facilities.
Prepare weekly job loading and ensure timely completion of maintenance, repair and installation works.
Repair the Centre’s assets (machineries, equipments and facilities) and ensure their continual operation.
Prepare “requests for repair” forms for works to be subcontracted.
Conduct diagnostic analysis of failure components.
Advise on modification or innovation of failure components for improved performance.
Select materials and components to suit particular maintenance application; and
Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

A holder of Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. Must be registered by Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as Graduate Engineer.
