Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences (MCHAS) is a Government institute, owned by the Ministry of Health under the Directorate of Human Resource Development. MCHAS has FULL National Council for Technical Vocational Education Training (NACTVET), Registration REG/HAS/037 since 2019.

The college is located in Mbeya town in the Southern Highlands Zone of Tanzania, at Uzunguni street – Hospital Hill Road adjacent to the Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital (MZRH)

Establishment of Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences in 2019 has been a response to the need of establishment of polytechnic centers by the Ministry of Health since 2000s.

Currently the college is running six programs namely, Ordinary Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Ordinary Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery, Ordinary Diploma in Clinical Dentistry, Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Ordinary Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Ordinary Diploma in Physiotherapy.

Mbeya college of Health and Allied Sciences is also a centre for continuing education/continuing professional development and the headquarters of the South-West Highlands Zonal Health Resource Centre.

What are the entry requirements for Mbeya College of Health Sciences?

mchas entry requirement: Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences. A pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.

The University of Dar es Salaam Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences (UDSM-MCHAS) was established in 2014 as School of Health Sciences (SoHS). The College currently enrols students for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Programme from 2015/16 Academic Calendar. The other Programmes which will be offered in future include:
