South Cotabato State College (SCSC), formerly Surallah National Agricultural School (SUNAS) in the Province of South Cotabato, has started its operation as secondary agricultural school on June 25, 1975 by virtue of Republic Act. No. 5704.
The Parents Teachers Association acquired and donated the 16 hectares to the DECS to realize the dream of the people of the community of having an agricultural school in the municipality of Surallah, South Cotabato.
On August 21, 1995, the Hon. Ricardo T. Gloria, DECS Secretary, formally advised Surallah National Agricultural School of its inclusion to the Philippines-Australian Agricultural Technology Education (AGRITECH) Project per Memorandum of Agreement signed between the DECS and the CHED, and was formally advised as one of the Provincial Technical Institute of Agriculture (PTIA) in Mindanao.
By authority of such agreement and order, SUNAS, aside from its Secondary Agricultural Curriculum, has offered the ladderized course in Diploma in Agricultural Technology- Bachelor in Agriculture Technology (DAT-BAT) in school year 1997-1998.
