Simba Yatangaza Kocha Mpya: The former Head Coach of Ugandan Football Champions Vipers SC Roberto Oliveira Gonçalves do Carmo ‘Robertinho’ has been officially introduced as the Head of the Technical Bench of Simba SC.
‘Robertinho’ who has worked in Rwanda with Rayon Sports, Kenya with Gor Mahia before going to Uganda with Vipers SC has signed a two-year contract which officially starts today Tuesday (January 03).

Before signing the contract, the Chairman of Simba SC Murtanza Mangungu has said that the coach from Brazil will join the island team in Zanzibar for the ongoing Revolution Championship on the island of Unguja.

He has said that they believe the arrival of the coach will increase the effectiveness of work in the Technical Bench of Simba SC, which for more than three months has grown under Acting Head Coach Juma Ramadhan Mgunda.
“We are proud to have a coach like this one with great ability to teach football, he has grown to great success in the countries of Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda,”
“The biggest responsibility of Simba SC is to see that the coach brings us to the goals we intend and I believe this is possible due to the experience he has in the International Championships.”

The 61-year-old coach before breaking the contract with Vipers SC within the 16 months he stayed at the club led Vipers SC to win 43 out of 57 games while drawing 9 and losing 6 games. In all the games Vipers SC scored 99 goals.
But he has also managed to win the Premier League Championship in Uganda, the Best Coach of the Season Award in Uganda as well as enabling Vipers SC to participate in the Champions League Group Stage in Africa for the first time since the establishment of the club.
